More businesses are happy with their wellness programs, according to a report from ADP.
Close to 80 percent of large businesses use these programs, while another 44 percent of medium-sized employers do the same. A total of 81 percent of medium-sized companies noted they are concerned with making their employees' health improve, while healthcare costs being low was the second most important reason. Nearly the same amount of large companies noted the same thing.
"Wellness programs are employers' 'next best hope' for containing healthcare expenses," said Tim Clifford, president of benefits services for national accounts at ADP. "These programs can also increase productivity without the negative impact on employee morale of layoffs or cutting plan options - yet few companies are measuring their return on investment from wellness initiatives."
If a person's place of employment doesn't have a wellness program, it may be a good idea to look for an insurance plan through another provider. One way that could work is if a person looks online for health insurance rates. That way, they can find an option that works for them.
