Ways for young people to save on auto insurancePosted On Mon, November 23, 2009
When looking for auto insurance, people who are younger may find they could pay more for policies.
However, a recent report from the Wall Street Journal notes there are things younger drivers can do in order to cut down the cost of auto insurance. One thing people should keep in mind is that the type of car they drive can increase their rates.
Another way younger people can save on insurance is by reducing the kind of coverage they get.
"You may want to forgo the comprehensive and collision coverage, which pays for theft and any damage to your car, if you drive an older car that's paid in full," the Journal noted.
Furthermore, young people should keep in mind that their credit history may play into how much they pay for auto insurance. People with worse credit are likely to pay more.
Other ways on saving on auto insurance could could be found if drivers don't use their cars that often. Some insurance companies offer discounts for people who don't put a lot of miles on their car every year.
