U.S. passes teen driving billPosted On Fri, July 6, 2012
Allstate's president and CEO Thomas Wilson recently applauded the federal government for passing the Surface Transportation Reauthorization Bill, which could help cut down on irresponsible driving practices for young people.
The law will encourage states throughout the country to create graduated driver licensing for young drivers, the release noted. These types of programs ease young people into driving more carefully, and can cut down on teen driving fatalities.
"We applaud Congress for taking a major step forward to support efforts to reduce the number of teenagers that die in auto accidents," Wilson explained. "Our employees and agency owners are proud to be part of a bipartisan coalition of legislators, public safety officials and grieving parents that have led the effort to save thousands of teens who die every year."
Those parents of young drivers may want to look for additional ways to keep them safe. By looking for a more sufficient auto insurance policy, a parent may feel more comfortable when their child is on the road by themselves. There may be many auto insurance quotes available online at low rates.
