The Weather Channel launches iPad appPosted On Mon, April 5, 2010
On Friday, the Weather Channel released its very own app for the iPad.
The Weather Channel for iPad app is free and it gives consumers access to a wide variety of weather information.
The vice president of mobile for The Weather Channel, Cameron Clayton, is excited about the company's involvement with the iPad. "We're thrilled to have developed an app for iPad that delivers so much utility to customers in such a beautiful and intuitive way."
The Weather Channel for iPad app uses TruPoint technology that has future radar imagery in motion on maps. Other features on The Weather Channel for iPad app include timely weather forecasts, interactive maps, severe weather updates, a video library and social media access to Twitter.
Weather Channel Apps for iPhone and iPod touch have long been available. The Wall Street Journal reports the size of the iPad's screen allowed for improvements with their app, particularly when looking at weather systems and being able to zoom in or out on the picture.
Apple released the much anticipated iPad on Saturday.
