State Farm, NYLC recognize schools that promote teen driver safety

Posted On Fri, June 8, 2012

A recent campaign from insurance company State Farm and the National Youth Leadership Council recognized several schools across North America for successfully promoting teen driver safety.

The program, called Project Ignition, encourages schools to educate their students about the risks of driving, as well as promoting the idea that students do their part to both absorb and use the information for their benefit.

"As a leader in auto safety, State Farm is committed to reducing teen car crashes," said Kellie Clapper, assistant vice president of community relations at State Farm. "We can learn a lot from these remarkable young people and work together to save lives."

It is important to teach young people to drive safe at an early age. However, when they finally venture out on the road by themselves, it may be a good idea to ensure they are as well-covered as possible. This is why it may be a good idea for parents to see if the family can find a more sufficient policy that has low auto insurance rates, so they can save while still getting quality coverage.
