Some healthcare reform items growing in popularity

Posted On Tue, January 31, 2012

According to a recent poll from Harris Interactive, Americans are changing their minds about certain aspects of the Obama administration's healthcare reform law. However some parts are still considered controversial.

The Harris Poll found that 57 percent of Americans are in favor of the ability for children to be on their parents' health insurance coverage until they turn 26. This is up from November 2010's figure of 55 percent, according to the survey. In addition, one-third of Americans want the law completely scrapped, while 21 percent do not want to see any changes. One-quarter of Americans are interested in seeing small changes occur to the law.

"The public is still divided, mainly on partisan lines, as to whether to implement or repeal all, parts, or none of the health care reform bill," said Humphrey Taylor, chairman of the Harris Poll.

Due to the uncertain future of the healthcare industry due to the reform law, as well as government intervention into the contested legality of the law, it may be a good idea for someone to compare health insurance quotes in the interim. Having an updated plan could give a person peace of mind.
