Saving money on teen auto insurancePosted On Thu, October 22, 2009
Along with keeping safety in mind, some parents may be wondering about teen auto insurance during National Teen Driver Safety Week.
That might include how parents may be able to save some money on auto insurance for their younger drivers. Recently, the Insurance Information Institute released some tips for parents who are looking to save money on teen auto insurance.
One thing parents should do is pick a safe care for their children to drive. Cars that are too fast could encourage speeding, and sports utility vehicles may be prone to rollovers, which can increase the cost of auto insurance.
Furthermore, parents should encourage their teens to get good grades in school. Having good marks may equal better auto insurance rates. Also, teens who take a driver's education course or who go to driving school may be in for savings on auto insurance.
This year's celebration of National Teen Driver Safety Week is encouraging teenagers to be good passengers while their friends are driving cars. That includes minimizing distractions and making sure that they wear their seatbelts.
