Pennsylvania police chief warns about child safety

Posted On Mon, September 19, 2011

The Pennsylvania State Police recently teamed up with the state's Department of Transportation to encourage parents to ensure their children are safe in car seats.

There are more than 140 "fitting stations" in the state, and these are aimed to help parents feel safe about their use of car seats, as improperly used units can lead to injury. The state reported that nine young children were killed in 2010 due to car accidents, the release noted. More than 2,000 were injured.

"Ensuring the safety of our most precious cargo must be our first priority every time we get behind the wheel," said Frank Noonan, Pennsylvania State Police commissioner. "If anyone has any doubts about whether they are using a child safety seat properly, now is the time to visit a safety inspection location."

Consumers interested in keeping their family safe may want to get the most comprehensive coverage they can. This can be made easier if the person looks out for and compares insurance rates to find out which one is best for them.
