Parents have more safe booster seat choicesPosted On Mon, October 17, 2011
A recent report from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety noted there are a total of 31 booster seats for children that received the highest safety ratings possible during this year's evaluations.
A total of 62 seats were examined in the study. With the initial 31 seats receiving the best rating, another items were given the second best designation, while another six were not considered good options. Seats were split between backless, highback and dual-use seats.
"Just 4 years into our ratings program, parents have a wide variety of top-rated seats to choose from," said Anne McCartt, senior vice president for research for IIHS. "Still, boosters that don't consistently provide good belt fit outnumber the ones that do, so consumers need to keep paying attention to this issue."
Parents who want to ensure their children are even safer when driving should also make sure their auto insurance coverage is good enough. By finding the lowest auto insurance rates, a consumer may be able to have more peace of mind when driving with their family.
