NFPA warns consumers about fire safety

Posted On Thu, March 1, 2012

The National Fire Protection Association recently began a partnership with Legoland Florida in order to promote fire safety for families.

The program has multiple aspects, including showing a comedy show involving acrobats in order to promote fire safety, according to the report. In addition, families were able to test smoke alarms, learned about specific steps to be safe with fire and met firefighters before the show.

Smoke alarms are extremely important in fire prevention, and the NFPA stressed that homeowners take them seriously.

"The majority of fire deaths happen in homes where there are no working smoke alarms," said Jim Shannon, president of the NFPA. "We are excited to join with Legoland Florida to impart two extremely important messages - test your smoke alarms and have an escape plan."

Consumers who own a home may want to make sure their insurance plan is at a high standard. If not, it could be a good idea to compare home insurance quotes to find something that will protect them in case something bad happens in their home, such as a severe fire.
