Many don't feel they are getting best deal on auto insurancePosted On Mon, October 19, 2009
When it comes to auto insurance, more consumers feel as though they are not getting the best deal when it comes to their policies.
According to a recent survey from Experian, 79 percent of respondents said they felt they were paying too much for their auto insurance. Furthermore, economic difficulties are driving people to try and get a better deal on their auto insurance. Of those polled, 54 percent said they have tried to lower auto insurance costs in the past year because of the difficult economic times.
Many remaining respondents who have not looked for savings on auto insurance said they will do so. Of those who haven't, 83 percent said they will try to reduce auto insurance costs over the next six months.
Though they may try to do so, a number of the consumers surveyed said they weren't sure how to save money on auto insurance. Forty-five percent said they do not know how to find cheaper coverage that still meets their insurance demands.
When it comes to saving money on auto insurance, the Insurance Information Institute notes that consumers may consider combining their auto and home insurance. Consumers may be offered discounts from providers if they get both of these policies from them. Another way consumers can save on insurance is by having a clean driving record.
