Majority of drowning victims are adultsPosted On Thu, October 27, 2011
A recent report showed that many Americans are unsure of how to swim, and this can lead to many dangerous situations and may convince some consumers to examine specific insurance quotes to ensure their family is taken care of.
The report, from 21st Century Swimming Lessons, cited a statistic from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which showed seven in 10 American drowning victims are over the age of 18. This may be surprising to many, as it is typically thought that children are at the highest risk.
Many people have not had proper instruction on how to swim, and even if they don't know how to accomplish that, it may be smart to learn how to float.
If a consumer lives near water, it may be wise to be experienced in swimming in order to lessen the chances for drowning. However, sometimes it is a good idea to make sure that if an accident occurs, that person's family is covered. Comparing life insurance rates may help a family find the best coverage in this situation.
