Ford Focus Electric most fuel-friendly car in America

Posted On Tue, March 13, 2012

Ford Motor Company recently released a report showing the 2012 Ford Focus Electric car was awarded the most-fuel-efficient vehicle of its kind.

The car has a 110 miles per gallon rating for city driving, as well as a 105 miles per gallon rating when combined, according to the news source. This is six miles per gallon higher than the Nissan Leaf. On the highway, the Focus gets 99 miles per gallon, while the Leaf earns seven less. In addition to the Focus, the Fusion hybrid is expected to join the 100 miles per gallon club when the newest edition is released later on this year.

"We've been working for three years to make the Focus Electric America's most fuel-efficient vehicle of its kind," said Chuck Gray, Ford chief engineer of global core engineering hybrid and electric vehicles.

Consumers who want to find other ways to save on automobiles may want to look for inexpensive auto insurance plans. One of the best ways to do this is to compare auto insurance quotes.
