Connecticut earns best state for women title, Texas worst for healthcarePosted On Mon, March 26, 2012
A report from iVillage showed that Connecticut was the best state to live in for women, while Texas had the worst percentage of women with healthcare.
The Nutmeg State had more than 90 percent of its women equipped with health insurance, while one-third had a four-year degree, the report noted. Following Connecticut in the top five was Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts and California. The report took into account not only healthcare and education, but also wellness, economic situations, female representation in governmental settings, reproductive rights and support for parents.
The Lone Star State had the worst female healthcare record, with only 30 percent of its women insured in some way, according to the report.
Those women who are not sure about what type of health plan they can get in their area may want to compare a group of health insurance quotes. There could be many sufficient plans available that still have low health insurance rates, which could help those who are struggling to afford a plan that fits their needs.
