Children's healthcare initiative to launchPosted On Tue, April 20, 2010
On Monday, the Children's Health Care Fund and Clorox announced they will be launching "Connect Kids to Care," a social media campaign to advocate for equal healthcare access for all children.
There are millions of children in this country who aren't able to see a doctor for regular check-ups or when they become sick. This social media campaign will use Facebook to bring awareness to this issue.
Dr. Irwin Redlener, pediatrician, co-founder, and president of CHF said that "delaying a child's healthcare can mean a lifetime of consequences. We are excited to partner with Clorox to Connect Kids to Care and continue our work helping ensure children get the essential care they deserve."
Children are more susceptible to problems such as cavities or asthma if they don't have regular access to healthcare. CHF will have mobile medical clinics to bring healthcare to children at homeless shelters, community centers, and schools. It will also provide nutritionists, mental health professionals, and dentists.
The Connect Kids to Care program will encourage healthier family environments through wellness tips, expert advice, and consumer-generated ideas.
