Brick buildings weather storms wellPosted On Wed, April 25, 2012
A recent report from the Brick Industry Association explained to consumers that clay brick has the best ability to resist damages from various natural disasters compared to other building options.
Clay brick options can withstand extremely strong winds, and are also formidable when dealing with seismic issues. In addition, the building material is also known for its strong ability to last while dealing with high amounts of moisture, and is more unlikely to be affected by fire. The material is also considered to be very green, and has a long lifespan with little need for maintenance.
"As a versatile building material made from abundant natural resources, there is no substitute for genuine clay brick," said Gregg Borchelt, president and CEO of the BIA.
Those homeowners who don't have dwellings made out of brick could be at a higher risk of storm damage, and due to this, it could be important for consumers to ensure they are protected. By comparing home insurance quotes, a person may find a plan that is more sufficient than the policy in place.
