Americans have better health, worse care

Posted On Mon, October 10, 2011

A recent survey from Euro RSCG Worldwide found that more consumers are feeling healthier, but are lacking in sufficient health insurance coverage due to cutting back on their finances.

Nearly 30 percent of consumers have admitted to cutting their prescription expenses, while another 31 percent have sacrificed some healthcare-related visits. More than 40 percent noted that they are in a trickier financial spot than they were 12 months earlier, as well, the survey noted. A total of 22 percent of consumers say that their health has gotten better over the past year, while more than 80 percent think their health situation is positive.

"The dire economic news just keeps coming, and clearly a lot of people have been badly affected, yet the survey results show a lot more positivity and resilience than you might have expected," said Julie Monroid, partner and chief strategic officer of Havas Worldwide Health. "After all those years of apparent plenty, Americans are now figuring out ways to maintain good health and good spirits through tougher times."

With this in mind, it may be a wise plan to be prepared and compare medical insurance quotes, as this could help consumers be more prepared for health issues in the long term and avoid putting their health in jeopardy.
