Many new vehicles can save gas

Posted On Tue, March 6, 2012

A report from TrueCar.com showed that some vehicles may not be a bad idea when looking to secure a car with good gas mileage.

Currently, gas prices are averaging approximately $3.70 across the United States, the report noted. However, there are some vehicles that may be able to make that hurt a bit less. The Honda Civic Hybrid had a combined city and highway miles per gallon rating of 44, while the Hyundai Sonata was 37 miles per gallon. Both vehicles sold for under $30,000.

"Your driving behavior and making sure your car is properly maintained can really help save on fuel economy," said Jesse Toprak, vice president of market intelligence at TrueCar.com. "Consumers should take advantage of the technology at their fingertips, providing them with the cheapest gas based on their current location."

Saving on gasoline is one good way to make sure a vehicle is affordable, but another good way could be ensuring that a vehicle has low-cost insurance. Comparing auto insurance rates to find the best plan may not be a bad choice.
