Deloitte recently released the results of a survey that showed that much of Generation Y prefers hybrid cars over completely electric options.

A total of 59 percent of those surveyed noted they are interested in an electric vehicle more than any other type of car, the report said. More specifically, 57 percent of consumers want a hybrid vehicle, and only 2 percent want a gas powered car or truck. More than one-third would like to have a gas-only vehicle.

"Almost six in 10 Gen Y respondents prefer a hybrid over any other type of vehicle, while a mere two in 100 prefer a pure battery electric vehicle - demonstrating that Gen Y is familiar and comfortable with hybrid technology, but not so much with battery-only technology," said Craig Giffi, vice chairman and automotive practice leader at Deloitte.

When purchasing a new vehicle, it could be a good plan to not purchase any regular auto insurance. Examining multiple auto insurance quotes may be the best way to save money, especially if a consumer purchases a more expensive car.
