California legislation to make auto insurance rates more affordable

<![CDATA[The 2012 Automobile Insurance Discount Act, which was supported by the American Agents Alliance, was recently verified by the California Secretary of State due to more than 500,000 signatures on a petition.
The petition's validation will put the program on a statewide ballot which will be voted on later this year, the report noted. Those who will be directly benefiting from the legislation are military personnel, as well as those who have been out of work for as many as 18 months, and children who are still living with their parents.
"Simply put, it was easy for us to obtain the necessary signatures because this initiative benefits consumers," said Ken May, president of the American Agents Alliance. "It rewards consumers for following the law and allows a new discount for continually having automobile insurance."
If a person lives outside of California and doesn't have such laws proposed, it may be a good idea to compare auto insurance quotes, as some prices could be more affordable.]]>
