In 2003, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma established the Caring Van Program to provide under insured children of Oklahoma with free immunizations. One in every three children in Oklahoma is not fully immunized. In fact, Oklahoma ranks 44th in the nation when it comes to childhood immunizations. The Caring Van program goes to registered childcare centers, schools, and public facilities throughout the state where it provides free immunizations to those children who need them.
