To cover families, the cost of coverage depends on the number of family members and the health condition of those members. The plans include medical expenses and many different medical services. The US army frequently offers no-cost or low-cost military health insurance plans to enlisted men. The policies offer coverage for active duty men, as well as their families. The reservists usually have access to low-cost life and dental insurance, but not medical insurance through these programs. CostThe cost of Tricare medical through the U.S. Department of Defense varies depending on active duty status and pay-grade. Enlisted men with a pay-grade of E-5 receive the prime military health insurance Tricare package for free, but have to pay $150 annually for additional coverage under the Standard package and $300 for their whole family. The cost goes down for E-4 and below at $50 and $100 for the same coverage. The cost of military medical insurance remains low as an added benefit for enlisted men.
